<原曲プレイバック♪>
ヘヴンズ・ゲイト (HEAVENS GATE) は、ドイツ出身のメロディックスピードメタルバンド。ハロウィンやジューダス・プリーストからの影響を感じさせるジャーマンメタルをプレイしていた。

同名の米国オカルト宗教団体とのつながりは不明（おそらく無関係）。
それよりもポルトガルやブラジルには「Gate of Heaven（Sahar Hassamain）」というユダヤ教のシナゴーグが存在するらしいので、このバンドは実はユダヤ系なのかもしれない。
このバンドのアンセム的なチューン。コーラス（サビ）の「We’re all waiting for the HEAVENS GATE（僕らはみんなヘヴンズ・ゲイト（天国の扉）を待っている）」という箇所は、ライヴで盛り上がること間違いなし。
この曲は、80年代メタルだと思い込んでいましたが、発表は1991年だったのですね。
「ジャーマンメタル」といいつつ、歌詞は英語です。
ドイツ、オランダ、北欧など母語がゲルマン語族のバンドは、同じくゲルマン語族の英語で曲を発表することが多かったですね。きっとその方がマーケットが大きいからでしょう。
それに比べて、ラテン語から派生したロマンス語族のフランス、スペインのバンドは母語で歌うことが多かったです。ラテン民族の誇りなのでしょうね。まあ、母語で歌った方が絶対カッコいいけど。
カラオケの曲目リストから削除されたものとばかり思って残念がっていたら、DAM機種で生き残っていたことがわかり、とても嬉しい。
こんな曲をカラオケで歌う人、日本で自分だけだろ、と思いきや、他にもいた（笑）。
原曲最後の高音金切り声シャウト、喉を痛めずに発声できる方法をご存じの方がいらっしゃいましたら、ぜひ教えていただきたいです。
